William Haygood Shaker was raised by Lollie, the youngest child of Bishop and Mollie Haygood.  Bill thus enjoyed a close relationship with Dr. Haygood’s daughter, who shared many stories about her father with him – so much so that the great grandson grew to know the Bishop vicariously through his grandmother.
